About Melanie

Melanie Pickering writes urban gothic thrillers for adults and young adults—stories where mystery, romance and the supernatural entwine in all the best ways. By day, she’s a high school library assistant; by night, she’s fuelled by caffeine, dark chocolate, and a fascination with the macabre. 

Her home, built nearly a century ago, has its own moods—and possibly its own ghosts. She wouldn’t have it any other way.

Melanie’s work has been recognised by the Romance Writers of Australia awards, including Highly Commended in Publishing Basics and Finalist in First Kiss, and her short fiction appears in anthologies such as Mermaid Kisses, My True Love Gave to Me, and The Love Hexperts.

She believes every object has a story, every shadow has a secret, and the best mysteries are the ones that linger long after the last page.
