That early obsession soon evolved into a love affair with kissing books and her older brother’s horror collection, a pairing that paved the way for her own distinctive blend of gothic emotion and dark romanticism.

Today, Melanie inspires a new generation of young writers in the high school library where she spends her days. Her nights are spent scribbling long into the midnight hours, often with a dog at her feet.
